The 113th Hashemite Scientific Council

As a representative of His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Highness Prince Hashim Bin Al Hussein, sponsored the 113th Hashemite Scientific Council, Titled "A collection of knowledge and wisdom book”, Author: Imam Al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali ", At the hall of the Islamic Cultural Center of the founding King Abdullah bin Al Hussein Mosque.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, holds the Hashemite Scientific Councils annually during the holy month of Ramadan. 

The Council was addressed by His Eminence the Chief Justice Abdul Hafez Alrabtah and the member of the Moroccan Local Scientific Council, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Banani and Professor of Faith and Comparative Religions at Mu'tah University, Dr. Qais Al-Maaytah.

Al-Rabtah said that the Hashemite scientific councils are a great Hashemite habit that are held every year during the blessed month of Ramadan, praising the efforts made by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in holding the Hashemite scientific councils every year, reviewing the biography of Imam Al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali, who was born in the year 736 AH, raised in an ancient family, characterized by knowledge, virtue, and righteousness, pointing to the hardships he endured on his journey seeking knowledge - reverence to science and scientists – and as evidence for his hard work and effort.

Al-Rabtah added, that Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali is considered one of the best qualified scientist of his age in field of literary works, wrote many interesting works in interpretation, hadith, jurisprudence, history, and grammar. It shows his multiple talents, reminding of number of his writings in interpretation and Quran Sciences, including interpretation of Surat Al-Ikhlas “chapter of loyalty”, interpretation of Surat Al-Nasr “chapter of victory”, interpretation of Surat Al-Fatiha “Chapter of the Opening”, and the parcing of Basmallah “In The Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful”.

In turn, a member of the Moroccan Local Scientific Council, Dr. Abdel Karim Al-Banani, pointed out that the book, "A collection of knowledge and wisdom”, It found great demand in the Islamic world, This is due to the author’s personality, which was known for his encyclopedic knowledge, his involvement in the science of the Noble Hadith, and the abundance and diversity of his writings, and for his piety, asceticism, piety, blessing, and memorization.

Al-Banani added that the book was of great importance among Islamic heritage books, due to the interest and care of scholars, commentators, investigators, and publishing establishments, which worked hard to produce it in a way that suits the stature of the man and the scientific status of the book, pointing out that the number of editions of the book exceeded 12 editions.

From his side, Professor of Faith and Comparative Religions at Mu'tah University, Dr. Qais Al-Maaytah, said: Ibn Rajab is one of the great Imams of the Hadith Keepers, one of poor good ascetic scholar, self-sufficient, A man with no connections with authority, devoted himself to science.

According to Al-Maaytah, the book explains “The Forty An-Nawawi”, which is the best in terms of understanding the hadiths in its chain and text, explaining that “Yahya bin Sharaf al-Nawawi” collected forty-two hadiths, organized them and explained them, and called them “The Forty An-Nawawi”. Then Ibn Rajab added eight to the forty and called them “A collection of knowledge and wisdom book”.

Al-Maaytah added that the approach of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali in writing the book was to explain the prophetic words of Hadiths, Ibn Rajab, used to begin by mentioning the chain and his evaluation to it, then presenting the topic of the hadith, the reason for its existence, dividing it into sections, explaining its vocabulary, and interpreting the differences and texts compatible with hadith meaning.

The Council was attended by Deputy Prime Minister , Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Krishan, and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Muhammad Al-Khalayleh, and Minister of State for Prime Ministerial Affairs Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jazi, and Minister of Government Communications, the official spokesman for the government Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin, and Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee Bilal Al-Momani, and the general Mufti of the Kingdom, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasanat, and the Assistant Director of Public Security, Brigadier Dr. Ali Al-Zoubi, and the Mufti of the Armed Forces, Colonel Imam Hassan Makhatra, and The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Awqaf, Dr. Abdullah Al-Aqeel, and secretaries and general directors, and the Assistant Secretary-General for Islamic Call and Guidance Affairs, the Director of Preaching and Guidance, Dr. Ismail Al-Khatba, and a number of political figures, muftis and judges of the Noble Sharia, officers and non-commissioned officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army and the security services, imams and preachers.
